If I remember correctly this session was back on one of the first sunny days in what felt like weeks. We took advantage of the beautiful sunshine and found the one and only tree in bloom in Stanley Park. Can’t wait to meet their little guy very soon.

I really cannot think of anything I enjoy more than spending a beautiful evening documenting pregnancy and a couples time together as “just the two of them.” Add in some of the first blossoms of Spring and I am very happy indeed! Very excited to meet their little one in a few short weeks!

Embracing the beauty the surrounds me…

This session had it all. A beautiful Mama-to-be. A couple so natural and full of love for each other. A suprise blizzard (didn’t see that coming!) and finally the glowing setting sun filtering through the hazy clouds. While editing this session I was enjoying and quite thankful for the beauty that surrounds me.

Well I’ve already posted about Austin, TX, the sunshine and how much I miss it. I’m also missing that funky vibe, great food and some really great people I had the pleasure of meeting there. Yes, I am. Austin I think I will have to plan a return trip…

Now I’ll share some shots of what had me packing my bags, boarding a plane and heading south. Pinkletoes Photography is a name synonymous with authentic lifestyle photography. Michele Anderson, the face behind Pinkletoes, was one of the first photographers I admired just starting out and my admiration hasn’t weaned. It was a thrill to meet Michele and learn directly from her on her home turf. Michele, you are amazing and I thank you for your openness and willingness to share. You have put together a great workshop, loaded my brain with inspiration and for this I thank you.

Documenting Baby’s First Year | Vancouver Family Photography

I love that little Maelle’s Mama had a vision when she came to me looking to document her little one’s first year. It started with the family’s maternity session at a park close to their home. Shortly afterwards Maelle was born and I had the pleasure of photographing their first moments as a family of four during her newborn session. We then contiued documenting all the changes that happen in that first year: a session at six months and another shortly before her first birthday. The images we created together were then turned into two heirloom Linen Keepsake Albums full of beautiful photographic spreads of their favourite images from each session.
I LOVE seeing both albums together and to see these beautiful sisters looking through them and talking about just how much they have both grown and changed. I can see these girls showing their own children the albums someday down the road…

An urban location on a beautiful Fall evening in Vancouver. The most perfect maternity dress in such a fun shade of blue. Access to a roof-top pool deck with amazing light and views of the mountains. Yeah, it was a pretty good shoot! Just a few for now…

This may have been one of the warmest nights of the Summer so far. This stunning Mama to be makes it look easy being almost 37 weeks pregnant in the height of Summer. Looking forward to meeting a little someone very soon.

I love that they brought their “large shaggy dog” to our session. I love that they didn’t want anything too “cheesy”. I love that they are waiting to find out the gender of their little one. I also love that the rain held off…June has been such as terrible month for outdoor sessions. I am so looking forward to a beautiful Summer…with fingers (and toes) crossed! Just a few from our evening together…can’t wait to meet their little one.
