I recently had the pleasure of photographing Shaunna and her two boys. We spent a sunny afternoon playing in their home and at a local park. We chatted, played, had fun and every once in a while I caught some of what was happening. A simple, fun and real lifestyle session with two boys and their Mama. Here are a few of my favorites from our time together…

In addition of being the fantastic mother to these two adorable boys Shaunna runs Modern Mama North Burnaby. Modern Mama is a social and educational community for moms. She hosts fun and informative local events and regularily blogs about topics we Mama’s can relate to. Modern Mama is the modern ‘moms club’ – events are small, private, led by experts and most offer nanny service for you (bonus!). If I remember correctly this session was back on one of the first sunny days in what felt like weeks. We took advantage of the beautiful sunshine and found the one and only tree in bloom in Stanley Park. Can’t wait to meet their little guy very soon.

More and more, of you are buying computers that do not have DVD drives. You also have other devices that you would like to store images on as well – your iPads, Android tablets, and things like that. Providing your beautiful image files on USB drives just makes so much more sense…and they are cute too!

One of my take away’s from the wrokshop was a need to search out some new urban locations. I have a few go-to-spots but I’m on the look out for some unique places to shoot. I decided to take my youngest with me location scouting. We hit the waterfront and I think this particular spot would make a great location for a family session. It had lots of character, great colour and if we were there a little closer to sunset it would be stunning…

This session had me thinking just how quickly little ones grow and change. It feels like just the other day that I was photographing their youngest as a newborn. But here she is a walking running toddler…on the move!

This was a quick session to document their final moments together. The day after this session her Biggest Brother was on a plane headed back home to New Zealand. I’m so glad Vancouver weather cooperated for us and that we could document this important moment for her family. Next time her Biggest Brother is back in town she will have changed and grown yet again and will likely be talking a mile a minute!

This session had it all. A beautiful Mama-to-be. A couple so natural and full of love for each other. A suprise blizzard (didn’t see that coming!) and finally the glowing setting sun filtering through the hazy clouds. While editing this session I was enjoying and quite thankful for the beauty that surrounds me.
